Have a Mac and want to use Rhapsody on it?

Here’s how,

To use Rhapsody on your Mac you have three options:

  1. Rhapsody Online
  2. Using Rhapsody with a Virtual Desktop
  3. Using Rhapsody with Bootcamp

First you’ll need to sign up for the Rhapsody free trial if you haven’t already done so.

Option 1: Rhapsody Online

Using the Rhapsody web-based interface is the easiest way to use Rhapsody on your Mac. With the web-based interface you’re able to listen to the 8,000,000+ songs in Rhapsody’s library. You miss out on some of the features of the desktop interface like not being able to download songs to your portable MP3 player but it’s the fastest and easiest way to get Rhapsody on your Mac.

Option 2: Using Rhapsody with a Virtual Desktop

Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac allows you to install and run any Windows application alongside your Mac OS X desktop without rebooting. It’s a great way to use Rhapsody on your Mac and gives you full functionality of the Rhapsody Music Software.

Below is a video showing Parallels in action. You can see how easy it is to run Windows applications on your Mac.

Option 3: Using Rhapsody with Bootcamp

Using Bootcamp gives you all the benefits of running Windows or Vista on your Mac but doesn’t allow you to run Windows alongside your Mac OS X like Parallels. You’ll need to have a valid Windows XP SP2 or Vista install disk.

*Unfortunately the free beta release on Bootcamp expired as soon as Apple released there new operating system, Leopard. Bootcamp now comes as part of Leopard and the only way to get Bootcamp is to purchase Leopard.
